About the Role 

 

We are looking for a Junior Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team at Landing! We are seeking a motivated data enthusiast to join our Business Intelligence team and help bring visibility and actionable insights to the business. This is a highly cross-functional role where you will help drive the data agenda throughout all departments in order to solve critical business challenges. Landing employees depend on data to make effective decisions - over 3000 data queries are run each day! This role reports directly to the Head of Data and Strategy.

What You'll Do

• Collect and organize data from various internal and external sources, ensuring accuracy through basic data cleaning and preprocessing techniques.
• Perform foundational statistical analyses to identify patterns, trends, and potential business insights.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of dashboards and reports to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and support business units.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing, operations, customer support) to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights.
• Document data sources, reporting methodologies, and key findings for reference and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed on industry trends and emerging tools in business intelligence and analytics.
• Support data modeling efforts and assist in writing basic SQL queries for data extraction.
• Generate recurring reports (ad-hoc, weekly, monthly, quarterly) and respond to data requests from stakeholders.
• Help automate routine data processing and reporting tasks to improve team efficiency.
• Investigate and escalate data inconsistencies, contributing to data quality and integrity efforts.
• Participate in requirements gathering sessions and help document reporting needs and business objectives.
• Provide general analytical support for decision-making processes across departments.

What You'll Need

• 2-3 years in Business Intelligence, Analytics Engineering, Data Product, or similar
• Ability to work successfully in our Birmingham, AL office
• Strong SQL skills, experience building ETL processes and architecting data models
• Experience creating data visualizations in Looker (preferred), Tableau, or a similar
• A strong business acumen with the ability to apply data skills to solve business problems
• Comfort in managing multiple projects and stakeholders, as well as changing priorities
• Experience with Snowflake or a similar data warehouse (Redshift, GBQ, or Vertica) is a plus
• Familiarity applying statistics and advanced analytic methods (e.g. regression, cluster analysis)
