Job Description

Nanook Recreation's Outdoor Adventures and Climbing Wall Program is looking for adventurous UAF students to join our team!

All Positions:
Ability to operate independently within departmental standards of conduct and professional expectations with proper training, awareness of risk management and safety concerns.
Enthusiasm, desire to learn, and desire to work as part of a team.
Excellent customer service skills.
Reasonable level of physical fitness.
Dependability, responsibility, and punctuality.
Professional attire and behavior.
Awareness of and appreciation for individual uniqueness and diversity.
Knowledge of, and/or interest in, outdoor recreation and fitness activities.

*Must be willing to work nights and weekends*

To thrive in this role:

Experience with outdoor recreation activities such as hiking, camping, rock/ice climbing, paddling (canoe, kayak, raft) and skiing.
Previous experience working with and/or participating in Outdoor Adventures Programs or classes.
Medical training.
Other documented training in outdoor recreation, leadership and safety (e.g. Swiftwater Rescue certificate, ACA training, Avalanche training, AMGA/PCIA training, NOLS courses, Leadership certificates or classes, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge of and/or interest in outdoor recreation activities.

Position Details:

This position is located on the UAF campus. This is a student position with up to 40 hours of work per pay period during the academic year and up to 80 hours per pay period during the summer.

This is a pooled position, which means that the position remains open over the entire academic year.
