Job Description

Description We are seeking a skilled Payroll Manager to join our team at our location in San Francisco, California. As a Payroll Manager, you will be tasked with overseeing ADP financial services, managing the ADP Workforce Now, and handling ATS. This role is crucial in maintaining accurate payroll records and ensuring all financial transactions are processed accurately and timely. Responsibilities: + Serve as the primary administrator for payroll systems, with extensive use of Paycom and regular liaison with Paycom representatives + Accurately manage and process bi-weekly payroll, including direct deposit requests and payroll record maintenance + Recommend and help implement process improvements to optimize payroll operations + Oversee year-end tasks such as W-2 distribution, accrual calculations (vacation, sick, and floating holidays), and record purges + Ensure compliance and proper retention of timesheets and payroll-related documents + Process manual checks, ensuring accuracy and appropriate approvals + Conduct bi-weekly audits to ensure correct pay practices and contract interpretations, collaborating with HR as needed + Manage quarterly payroll tax filings, tax reconciliation spreadsheets, and resolve tax-related issues + Handle FSA enrollments, reports, and deductions + Administer wage garnishments, salary verifications, and recurring payroll reports + Initiate and monitor benefit and union dues deductions and invoicing + Supervise payroll assistants or temporary help as assigned + Support payroll, 403(b), and financial audit processes Requirements + Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience + Minimum 4 years of hands-on payroll processing experience + Deep understanding of payroll tax laws, regulations, and internal controls + Proven reliability, accountability, and ability to meet deadlines consistently + Strong written and verbal communication skills + Excellent judgment and decision-making capabilities + Detail-oriented with the ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks + Takes ownership and pride in work, with a proactive approach to problem-solving + Maintains high standards of integrity and confidentiality + Delivers exceptional employee-focused customer service + Able to work independently while knowing when to collaborate + Proficient in Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills preferred + Strong organizational skills; experience managing staff is a plus + At least 5 years of leadership experience, including hiring, training, evaluating, developing staff, and handling disciplinary matters in coordination with HR and senior leadership Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
